Audio Reference Site Series

The sites listed below are part of my Audio Reference Site Series that I have also put on the web.

The Phase Linear Reference Site is a sister website covering the illustrious history of Phase Linear amps. preamps, tuners, speakers and other components.

The Quarter-A Reference Site is devoted to the superb integrated amplifiers made by Marantz in the late 1980s that operated in Class A mode up to one-quarter of their rated output, before switching to Class A/B.  Models covered are the PM-94, PM-84, PM-74 and others.

The MP3 Player Reference Site covers both portable and home MP3 players, MP3 history, and gives brief descriptions of current MP3 players.  If you are an MP3 enthusiast, be sure to bookmark this site.

Other Audio Links of Interest

[We support Real Stereo!]  I discovered this website while doing research on the subject of stereo for use on the Commentary page.  This hyperlink will take you to the We Support Real Stereo webpage, part of the TNT-Audio website. It is supported by dedicated stereophiles in America, Europe and specifically Italy. The website is written in English but is also provided in Italian. The TNT site is, in fact, one of the most popular audio website on the Internet, and well worth visiting.

The TNT site features audio tests of STEREO equipment, commentary and other very worthwhile information. ELITE stereo equipment owners will enjoy visiting this site. When you click on the hyperlink image, it will take you to the We Support Real Stereo page. At the bottom are the links to the other TNT sites, including the homepage.

Another website I have created is The Jackie Gleason Album Site, devoted to the many records Gleason released during the 1950s and 1960s. Gleason was a multi-talented man. Although primarily known for his role in The Honeymooners and his TV variety shows, Gleason was equally successful in recording some of the most beautiful renditions of American standards. Some called it romantic mood music, but he also recorded some excellent jazz albums as well. Each album he released is illustrated with track listings, a short history of his recording career, and related links.

The LaserDisc UK Website is the definitive site for every LaserDisc manufacturered, including those made by Pioneer as well as they ELITE models.  Owners of ELITE LaserDiscs will find a wealth of information here.

The Dual Classics Website is similar in spirit to this site, in that it covers the wonderful turntables Dual built over the past few decades.  In addition, it covers it current models and other components Dual manufacturers today.   If you have ever owned a Dual, you will enjoy this very well designed and information-rich website.

The Lansing Heritage site is dedicated to the pioneering speaker engineering of James B. Lansing and the companies that carry on that legacy today.  This is a very comprehensive site and beautifully done.  You can spend many pleasant hours here.  With the Lansing name, it is good to know "They still build them like they used to
